Sports world reacts to Colin Kaepernick’s surprising quarterback offer

Colin Kaepernick, a free agent quarterback, recently requested a chance to join the New York Jets' practice squad in a letter to the team's general manager, Joe Douglas.

This request came as the Jets faced a quarterback shortage due to Aaron Rodgers' injury and underperformance by Zach Wilson.

However, the Jets ultimately signed Trevor Siemian instead of Kaepernick, who has not played in the NFL for seven years.

The B.C. Lions of the Canadian Football League (CFL) have expressed interest in Kaepernick, adding him to their negotiation list, as reported by TSN's Farhan Lalji.

Being on a CFL negotiation list means little unless Kaepernick decides to join the CFL or negotiates a trade to another preferred team.

Notably, this is not the first time Kaepernick has been on a CFL team's negotiation list, as he was previously considered by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Montreal Alouettes in 2017, although no agreement was reached at that time.
