Israel-Hamas Conflict: Shocking Casualties and Global Tensions

The Israeli military continues to battle Hamas militants in several communities after a surprise attack on the Gaza border resulted in over 600 Israeli civilian and soldier casualties, with more than 1,800 injured.

In response, Israel launched hundreds of airstrikes on Gaza, resulting in over 300 Palestinian casualties, including children, and more than 2,000 injuries.

Tensions escalated further with strikes exchanged across the Israeli-Lebanese border, potentially involving Hezbollah.

Palestinian militants used paragliders, an amphibious operation, and explosives to breach the border fence and launch attacks on Israel.

More than 3,000 rockets were fired from Gaza into Israel, leading to air raid sirens and disruptions in major cities.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to target Hamas hiding places and called for those in Hamas-controlled areas to leave.

Regional powers, including Saudi Arabia and Iran, issued statements regarding the conflict, while the U.S. expressed support for Israel's right to defend itself and offered assistance.
