Former NFL star arrested after shocking threats against police

Former NFL star Dion Lewis was arrested on September 18th at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa, Florida, due to his unruly behavior.

The arrest followed a request from the venue's management for Lewis to leave the property.

Initially, Lewis was given the option to call a cab or Uber and leave without further repercussions.

However, he became belligerent in front of other casino patrons and called police officers "cowards," refusing to leave because he believed he did nothing wrong.

Lewis allegedly threatened to spit in a police sergeant's face if touched.

Despite attempts to de-escalate the situation, Lewis was charged with misdemeanor trespassing and taken to Seminole County Jail.

His attorney has submitted a not guilty plea, and Lewis is scheduled to appear in court in November. He is a former Super Bowl champion and a former teammate of Tom Brady.
