49ers elevate Willie Snead from practice squad for Sunday's game

The 49ers are promoting veteran wide receiver Willie Snead from their practice squad for the upcoming game against the Cardinals in the 2023 season.

This move comes as Jauan Jennings is doubtful and Deebo Samuel is questionable for the game, potentially leaving the 49ers with fewer of their regular wide receivers.

Willie Snead played four games for the 49ers in the previous season and has an extensive career with 279 catches, 3,431 yards, and 16 touchdowns across 99 games for various NFL teams.

In addition to Snead, the 49ers are also elevating defensive back Kendall Sheffield for the same game.

Both Snead and Sheffield will return to the practice squad after the game, as per the team's roster strategy.

This elevation of Snead and Sheffield addresses potential receiver shortages and provides depth for the 49ers in their upcoming game against the Cardinals.
